Competitive Swim Program
A Competitive Swim Program, Registered With USA Swimming.
Gold operates year round and is for athletes with the ability level of novice or higher ages 6 - 18. We do take beginner athletes, but they must pass a swim test conducted by a coach first. In Gold, athletes will learn all four of the competitive strokes (butterfly, backstroke, breaststroke, and freestyle) and learn how to compete in a range of events consisting of these strokes. New athletes will be required to pass a swim test, prior to starting.

After two meets athletes will be upgraded to the Premium Membership for the difference of the cost ($72.00).
This year all swimmers will need to be registered in the California Gold program, even if they only plan to swim during the summer. Starting in April, our team is transitioning to a level based program, meaning if you wanted to swim just for the summer or a few months you can, regardless of skill level! Coaches will spilt swimmers by skillset into groups to make sure each swimmer is receiving the correct instruction. All new swimmers will be required to take a swim test and our in the water coaches for the little kids will still be in place!
Ask your coach for further details.
We Priortize The Process Over The Result And Teach Atheletes To Compete How They Practice.
Part of our coaching philosophy is that the pool deck is our classroom, practices are our “lectures”/lessons, and swim meets are our tests. We emphasize the step-by-step coaching process. Athletes learn the absolute basic swimming fundamentals of breath control, kicking, stroke work, and proper demonstration of listening to coaches before moving to more technical elements of the sport.
Our age group program emphasizes the importance of maximizing distance per stroke in all races. Success is measured as much in practice as it is at swim meets. It is our goal that athletes will become proficient and excel in each of the four strokes (butterfly, backstroke, breaststroke, and freestyle) and the individual medley, in order to become stronger, faster, more comfortable, and more confident athletes.
